Hanhart's brand new and strictly limited PIONEER Mk II 80 Jahre Jubilaeum is dedi-cated to a very special anniversary: 80 years of PIONEER Mk II. Exactly 80 years ago, the historical model served as one of the first pilot's chronographs. Today, the PIO-NEER Mk II 80 Jahre Jubilaeum combines the unique features of the past with the green colors of the Black Forest. This special model is limited to 200 pieces!

In 1940 the production of the two-pusher model “Calibre 41” started. The large crown and the asymmetrical pusher distance were already then typical Hanhart characteris-tics and still are today. Other features were: black dial with luminous numbers, reces-sed seconds, and 30 minutes counter, luminous hands, nickel-plated movement with screw balance and Incabloc shock protection.

All Hanhart chronographs from the PIONEER collection have a stainless steel case back. Here, the historical pilot’s watches from the 1940s serve as a model. On this limited special edition, we used a sapphire glass case back for the first time on a PIONEER chronograph to provide a view of the decorated movement with Hanhart ro-tor. The reliable, robust and accurate ETA 7753 serves as the basis.

Behind the sapphire glass case back of the PIONEER Mk II 80 Jahre Jubilaeum, the reliable Calibre ETA 7753 works in best Swiss Made quality. In addition to the chro-nograph function, it offers a power reserve of up to 42 hours. The decorated move-ment has a pearl cut (special circular pattern) and blue colored screws.

80 years of history in a 40 mm case. The red pusher is made of robust HyCeram® and the pusher distance is asymmetrically arranged, like 80 years ago. To give the anniversary chronograph an unmistakable design, inspired by the Black Forest, green was chosen as the color of the dial and the case has a matt sandblasted finish.

The hands and numerals of the limited PIONEER Mk II 80 Jahre Jubilaeum are coated with Super-LumiNova® greenline C1. This ensures optimal readability at day and night time.

A green canvas strap makes it comfortable to wear from day one. For extra comfort on the skin, the green canvas strap has Alcantara on the inside. A sandblasted pin-buckle ensures a good grip.

Reminders of the watch manufacturer’s tradition are deliberately made clearly recognisable: one of the brand’s distinctive features, the red reset button, underlines the relationship between Hanhart’s first pilot’s chronographs, its mechanical stopwatches and the new collection.

It has been a distinguishing characteristic of Hanhart watches since 1939 and was previously intended to prevent pilots from unintentionally resetting the stop time.

For the models featured in the Primus collection it has been finished with anodised aluminium. The thin, striking fluted bezel with inlaid red marking is also reminiscent of the design of the watch manufacturer’s legendary chronographs. A structural change within the Army and the re-establishment of the Command of the Austrian Air Forces in 2017 inspired the Command to design a limited edition together with Hanhart.

The chronograph combines the virtues of the Austrian Air Force such as precision, endurance and resilience with the principles of Hanhart: incomparable reliability, perfect legibility, ease of use and robustness. The PRIMUS Austrian Air Force Pilot combines the characteristic features of both sides, which are required for a perfect pilot’s chronograph.

The new timepiece from Hanhart is limited to 100 pieces and is available in three different versions of case and bracelet. The chronograph can be ordered in a stainless steel case, a matt sandblasted stainless steel case and a black DLC coated stainless steel case.

The bracelets are available in calfskin, vulcanized rubber and canvas and come with a folding clasp made from stainless steel (matt or DLC coated, depending on case material).

The choice of case and bracelet does not change the limitation of the chronographs – every serial number is only produced once.

The dial carries the distinctive emblem of the Austrian Air Force at six o'clock, which shows an eagle applied on the Austrian flag. Many details such as feathers and claws can only be recognized with eagle’s eyes or with the help of a magnifier.

The bright luminescent numerals and index marks together with the red Hanhart details create a clear contrast to the black basic design of the chronograph and thereby contribute to a good legibility.

The unique fluted bezel with inlaid red marking, the typical "bicompax" dial arrangement and the anodized aluminum red button reflect the typical Hanhart features.
