A New Expression of the Balancier 3

Greubel Forsey presents a new edition of the Balancier 3, limited to 22 timepieces, continuing the evolution of the movement first introduced in 2023. Housed in the Convexe titanium case measuring 41.50 mm across the caseband, this edition introduces a finishing never before executed at the Atelier: a frosted titanium bridge hand-finished with a steel brush across its entire curved surface. Enhanced contrasts and multiple hues of blue further emphasise the purity of the movement, offering a renewed interpretation of the Balancier 3 while preserving its mechanical identity.

From its origin, the Balancier 3 was conceived around structural clarity. Its architecture is defined by three prominent bridges – the barrel bridge, the balance bridge and the large central bridge that supports the hours and minutes display and extends toward the small seconds disc. Together, they create a composition where each mechanical function remains clearly legible while contributing to a coherent architectural whole.

The Convexe titanium case frames this construction through ergonomic curvature. Measuring 41.50 mm across the caseband, it follows the natural line of the wrist, while the variable-geometry bezel and curved sapphire crystal reinforce the continuity between exterior form and movement architecture.

At the heart of the timepiece lies Greubel Forsey’s in-house variable-inertia balance wheel, measuring 12.60 mm in diameter and fitted with six gold mean-time screws. The movement is composed of 282 components and powered by two fast-rotating series-coupled barrels delivering a 72-hour chronometric power reserve, combining technical density with openness and visual depth.

The principal evolution of this edition lies in the treatment of the bridges. The balance and barrel bridges are executed in polished titanium, preserving a bright, reflective presence within the architecture. In contrast, the large central bridge introduces a new finishing language.

Click , to see the large size. BIG FOTO

Extending from the edge of the movement between 1 and 2 o’clock down to the rotating small seconds disc between 7 and 8 o’clock, it is distinguished by an exceptionally deep frosting, applied by hand with a steel brush across its curved surface.

Click , to see the large size. BIG FOTO

This pronounced matte texture contrasts with the lighter frosting on the movement bridges, while polished bevels bring definition and crispness to its contours. Together, these finishes create an engaging interplay of surface aesthetics and light, reinforcing the Balancier 3’s three-dimensional character.

Click , to see the large size. BIG FOTO

The visual depth is further reinforced by a nuanced play of colour. Different hues of blue create stronger contrast, guiding the eye through the multiple levels of the architecture and enhancing legibility.

Click , to see the large size. BIG FOTO

The functional layout remains faithful to the original concept: hours and minutes displayed on the suspended central bridge, a rotating small seconds disc with fixed indicator, and a power-reserve indication visible on the movement side.

Limited to 22 timepieces, this new Balancier 3 is an evolution through finishing. By differentiating the visual language of the bridges and introducing a new treatment for curved titanium surfaces, Greubel Forsey expands the expressive possibilities of mechanical architecture while remaining true to the original vision of the Balancier 3.

BREVA GENEVE “Segreto di Lario” Meridian Gold
The Gold of Contemporary Explorers

    • The new Meridian Gold reference from BREVA GENEVE draws collectors of rare timepieces into uncharted territory.

    • Its slightly matte powder-gold dial – a first for BREVA – evokes the navigation and time-measuring instruments of explorers past.

    • The exclusive BREVA GENEVE triple retrograde movement, including a 7-day power reserve indication, is housed in the 41 mm Grade 5 titanium cushion-shaped case of the “Segreto di Lario” collection. Measuring 11.10 mm in thickness and water-resistant to 50 metres, the collection was inaugurated in 2025 and already comprises three references.

    • With Meridian Gold, whose richly nuanced tone carries layered meaning and offers a contemporary interpretation of the spirit of exploration, BREVA GENEVE introduces a defining moment: the hour of orientation — the moment one chooses a course.

On the occasion of Geneva Watch Week 2026 in Geneva, BREVA GENEVE unveils its new reference : “Segreto di Lario” Meridian Gold – its slightly matte powder-gold dial draws inspiration from the scientific instruments that guided generations of explorers.

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

Conceived on the shores of Lake Como, as a reflection on the time-measuring instruments that once accompanied adventurers and explorers, the “Segreto di Lario” remains a constant invitation to travel — an enduring desire to discover new horizons. In the Meridian Gold version, it draws upon historical aesthetic codes to project into modernity an aesthetic universe shaped by memory, emotion and sensation.

A Dial with an Evocative Tone

The warm, restrained hue of the Meridian Gold dial, set within the 41 mm Grade 5 titanium cushion-shaped case, recalls the patina of the meridian circles of sextants and brass compasses. These instruments transformed light into precise scientific readings calibrated to their time, enabling explorers to determine their coordinates and take the horizon as their guide.

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

BREVA GENEVE draws here from an aesthetic deeply linked to the history of measurement. The textured dial with soft reflections, the wind rose at 12 o’clock, and the crossed scales of the retrograde indications all reference the visual language of scientific instruments.

“In the Segreto di Lario collection, each tone represents a moment or an atmosphere. The Meridian Gold reference introduces a defining instant: the hour of orientation — the moment one chooses a course. In this new model, every design element engages with the original function of these instruments: to orient, to calibrate, to navigate,” explains Julien Haenny, CEO of BREVA GENEVE.

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

For purists of classical watchmaking, the tone of the Meridian Gold dial may also evoke German silver (maillechort), the copper-zinc-nickel alloy traditionally used for bridges and mainplates.

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

A particularly hard, low-oxidation metal, it is significantly more resistant to corrosion than brass and reacts to the skin’s natural oils; renowned for being demanding to work yet prized by connoisseurs for the deep golden patina it develops over time, it recalls the golden age of classical fine watchmaking.

A Contemporary Measuring Instrument – “Segreto di Lario,” BREVA GENEVE’s Signature Collection

The dials of the “Segreto di Lario” collection are read like instrument panels. The crossed hands — a stylistic and technical signature of BREVA GENEVE — provide a dual retrograde indication of the power reserve via a double time scale.

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

This double power-reserve gauge, specific to BREVA GENEVE, places available energy in parallel with two levels of precision. The first hand indicates the state of the power reserve over six days. The second hand takes over during the final 24 hours, providing a more detailed reading of the remaining energy.

An Exclusive Mechanical Movement with Triple Retrograde Complication

Created especially for the independent Swiss watchmaking house BREVA GENEVE by master watchmaker Jean-François Mojon, the C101 calibre is a hand-wound mechanical movement (29 jewels, 3 Hz) developed on a Chronode base. Featuring retrograde displays, it indicates hours, minutes and seconds.

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

The 7-day power reserve is also displayed retrograde, allowing a clearer reading of energy depletion.

Rare Timepieces, Crafted by Exceptional Artisans

Hand-crafted by skilled artisans in keeping with the great Swiss watchmaking tradition, the finishing places particular emphasis on Côtes de Genève, circular satin-brushing and polished chamfers — details that convince discerning collectors and enthusiasts.

“BREVA GENEVE is more than a brand. It is a celebration of the measuring instruments that once accompanied the great explorers. Our instruments of time represent a quest for exclusivity and distinction, offering today’s knowledgeable watch enthusiasts unique horological creations imbued with the character and panache of adventurers past,” notes Julien Haenny, CEO of BREVA GENEVE

BEDA'a Watches – ANGLES Guichets

BEDA'a WatchesANGLES Guichets Sun and Moon Hands Indicatiors 34mm Steel 2026

Beda’a dances with the sky

From Earth to Moon, Beda’a presents Angles Guichets, the first Angles with a complication: a 24‑hour aperture display, with day and night indicated by the passage of the Sun and the Moon. Poetic in intent yet precise in execution, the mechanism is manually wound and housed in a 37 mm case that evokes the rhythm of the universe.

Click, to see the large size. ▶ BIG FOTO

Angles Guichets retains the singular geometry that has defined the collection from the outset: an eight‑faceted case with integrated lugs, structured across three stepped levels, which has quickly become one of the most recognisable signatures of the new independent watchmaking scene.

The reception among collectors was immediate, with each limited series fully allocated within 24 hours.

Key takeaways

    • New permanent, non-limited line within the Angles collection
    • First Angles complication:
24-hour day-night aperture display with Sun and Moon
    • Two versions at launch: stainless steel and gold-plated stainless steel
    • Entirely reworked closed, embossed dial that follows the natural geometry of the case
    • Custom-designed leather strap; lining echoes the dial motif
    • Hand-wound Peseux/ETA
7001 calibre, prized by collectors, modified for 24-hour indication
    • The distinctive 37 mm diameter is preserved
    • Ultra-slim profile of just
6.3 mm (Swiss development)

In less than three years, the Angles collection has become a cornerstone of Beda’a’s watch offering. Collectors, enthusiasts and industry professionals alike recognise it as one of the more distinctive propositions to emerge from the independent watchmaking landscape in recent years.

Its octagonal case brings together straight lines and curves in a balanced architecture, paired with an integrated, interchangeable strap and Beda’a’s signature pin buckle.

Conceived as a dress watch, it reflects a personality closely aligned with that of Sohaib Maghnam — the independent, unorthodox creative force behind Beda’a

An exercise in style

The Angles Guichets pushes the Angles aesthetic further through one of the most demanding exercises in watch design: the aperture display.

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

Demanding because the usual visual markers of a watch — those that typically define its identity — vanish behind an almost entirely solid face: no central hands, no conventional dial, no counters, chapter ring or logo – only two arcs revealing the passage of time.

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

This deliberate restraint heightens the designer’s challenge, requiring personality to emerge through proportion, rhythm and detail, while remaining true to the Angles’ underlying design language.

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

On the Angles Guichets, this balance is achieved with apparent ease, with a poetry of its own. Sidestepping established conventions, Beda’a offers an alternative way of reading time. Sohaib Maghnam imagined a watch that reflects how its passage is perceived from Earth: on the wrist, at a glance, the Sun and the Moon appear to move across the sky before the wearer’s eyes.

The discreet elegance of apertures

The upper aperture displays the hours on a fixed scale from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

The Sun then the Moon travel across the opening, indicating the passage of day and night. Their motion is slow, almost imperceptible, intimating a different relationship with time.

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

The Angles Guichets favours a slower pace — contemplation over precision — which is why the watch omits any seconds indication.

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

The lower aperture is dedicated to the minutes. Here, Beda’a introduces a characteristic inversion: as the minute disc advances, a fine arrow set flush with the dial marks the reading point, reinforcing clarity while maintaining visual restraint.

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

Both displays follow a principle of moderation, in line with the quiet luxury shaping contemporary watchmaking: minutes are shown in five-minute increments; hours appear as even numerals, separated by applied dot markers and framed by a subtle sector-style outline — a nod to classical codes.

A landmark calibre

On the movement side, Beda’a retains the hand-wound Peseux/ETA 7001 calibre, long cherished by collectors. Peseux is one of Switzerland’s established movement manufacturers, founded in 1923 in the eponymous town near Neuchâtel.

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

To allow the timekeeping narrative to unfold across 24 hours, Beda’a worked with a Swiss partner to modify the gear train so that it runs at half the usual speed — completing a full rotation in 24 hours instead of 12, while preserving a 42-hour power reserve.

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

The calibre’s celebrated slimness keeps the Angles Guichets to just 6.3 mm in thickness, giving the watch a balanced profile on any wrist. Both versions of the Angles Guichets — stainless steel and gold-plated stainless steel — now join the permanent, non-limited collection.

The Prospex Marinemaster upholds Seiko’s longstanding
legacy of bold exploration in a collaboration with JAMSTEC.

Seiko’s journey in diver’s watchmaking began in 1965 with Japan’s first diver’s watch, which accompanied members of the Japanese Antarctic Research Expedition to the South Pole from 1966 to 1969.

His model was followed by the creation of the nation’s first 300m water-resistant diver’s watch in 1968. In the decades since, Seiko has developed new technologies, designs, and features that have made its diver’s watches a trusted favorite among professionals and enthusiasts worldwide.

The company’s legacy of testing the limits of the modern sports watch and supporting marine conservation continues through its partnership with the Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology (JAMSTEC), which began in the 1980s

Inspired by the spirit of bold exploration that connects JAMSTEC and Seiko, two new diver’s watches join Prospex’s flagship Marinemaster series. The first is a JAMSTEC collaboration, and the second is a continuous production model.

Both are powered by Seiko’s self-winding Caliber 8L45 mechanical movement and represent the pinnacle of the Seiko 300m water-resistant diver’s watch.

Honoring a spirit of exploration and forging new paths

The collaboration model showcases a new textured dial that imagines the trail forged by an icebreaker as it advances through sea ice, symbolizing how Arctic research paves the way for the future.

Its vertically oriented blue gradient, which deepens at the center, is finished with a thick, clear coating and then polished, echoing the boundless, crystalline depth of the Arctic Ocean

The blue ceramic bezel enhances the beauty of the dial while providing exceptional scratch resistance.

The ultimate expression of a classic Seiko diver’s watch

As the first continuous production Prospex watch powered by the 8L45 movement, the new black-dialed creation embodies the classic 1968 diver’s design, ensuring exceptional legibility underwater.

The dial’s deep black hue and fine-grain texture minimize light reflection from the dial while the beveled edges of the indexes catch light from any angle, delivering high visibility.

An evolution of the Marinemaster

Both creations feature an updated clasp that offers easy adjustments of up to 16mm in 2mm increments by sliding the button inside. Even when the clasp is closed, the extension can be retracted, ensuring comfortable and effortless operation.

While its exterior traces the familiar contours of the 1968 diver’s watch—including its flowing silhouette and a screw-down crown at 4 o'clock—the Caliber 8L45 that powers the watches represents the summit of Seiko’s mechanical watch movements. The mainspring and hairspring are made of Spron, Seiko’s proprietary alloy.

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

The movement offers 72 hours of power reserve thanks to a mainspring that is long and thin, and operates within a tolerance of +10 to -5 seconds per day. To ensure the watch's durability, the crown is not screwed directly into the case but locked into a separate component that is built into the case, allowing it to be more easily replaced.

The two creations will be available at the Seiko Boutiques and select retail stores worldwide from July 2026, with the JAMSTEC collaboration model offered as a limited edition of 1,000
