WHEN TWO LEGENDS MEET

Some meetings seem inevitable. For example, the day that Rolls-Royce spent with H. Moser & Cie. These two prestigious firms share many of their values: more than a century of history, timeless elegance, iconic models, and cutting edge technology which embraces tradition and expertise. On May 7th, members of the Swiss Rolls-Royce Enthusiasts’ Club discovered the world of H. Moser & Cie.; works of art on four wheels met those driven by them.

During their annual general meeting, 90 members of the Swiss Rolls-Royce Enthusiasts’ Club stopped in at Schaffhausen to meet fellow admirers of mechanical treasures and lovers of fine craftsmanship. They were welcomed at Charlottenfels, Heinrich Moser's family home. It now houses the Moser Family Museum, where they were able to trace the exceptional career of the brand's founder, and admire some of his creations.

They were then introduced to the brand's very latest creations: three limited edition pieces created by H. Moser & Cie. exclusively for members of the Rolls-Royce Enthusiasts’ Club.

Sporting a midnight blue fumé dial adorned with the club's logo, the Venturer Small Seconds and Endeavour Small Seconds – available with or without a diamond-set bezel – feature many very subtle references to Rolls-Royce.

These three limited editions are engraved on the back and, on the Venturer model, the movement has been designed to evoke the iconic grille of the Rolls-Royce, visible through the sapphire case back.

During this exceptional event, which highlighted two true passions, watches and cars competed to astound all those present. 35 vintage Rolls-Royce models, some dating from the pre-war years, formed a guard of honour in front of Charlottenfels, a place steeped in the history of H. Moser & Cie., a gateway between the past and present, a testimony to the excellence of those brands which have become icons.

The Anniversary Centigraphe symbolizes the watch celebrating the 10th Anniversary of each F.P. Journe Boutique. The Hong Kong Boutique celebrates its 10th Anniversary this October 6, 2016. It is the first to unveil its Anniversary edition with a limited Series of 20 pieces, followed by the Tokyo Boutique on October 7. Tokyo will introduce its anniversary watch limited to 10 pieces, with a retrospective exhibition of the F.P. Journe Anniversary Series (Chronomètre Souverain 2005 - Chronomètre à Résonance 2006 - Tourbillon Souverain 2007 – Octa Perpétuelle 2010).

This exclusive edition is made in a perfect harmony of colours: a 40mm polished Titanium case, a Ruthenium dial with sapphire registers, an 18K Gold crown and rocker, the emblematic mechanical movement with manual winding in 18K rose Gold and the burgundy alligator strap.

The Anniversary Centigraphe will be available exclusively in the Boutique celebrating its 10th Anniversary. Each piece is numbered followed by the name of corresponding city. The Boutique Anniversaries from the F.P.Journe network will continue their celebration in 2017 with the Geneva Boutique in March, followed by Boca Raton in spring. In 2018, it will be the turn of Paris; in 2018 Beijing and New York; in 2019, Bal Harbour; Miami in 2022; Los Angeles in 2023 and last but not least Beirut in 2024.

The Centigraphe is a spectacular mechanical chronograph indicating elapsed times from a 100th of a second to 10 minutes, visible on 3 dials, each with a time scale in red.

On the left, the 100th of a second hand revolves around the dial in one second on a scale marked in hundredths of a second. The hand on the right revolves once every 20 seconds on a time scale divided into seconds. The hand at 6 o’clock makes a tour in 10 minutes.

The chronograph is started, stopped and zeroed by a rocker located at 2 o’clock in the case band. This ergonomic design, perfectly fitted to the wristwatch, is patented.

A second patent was granted for the mechanism’s ingenious configuration, which effectively isolates the chronograph from the timekeeping function. This means the balance amplitude is unaffected when the chronograph is running.

The F.P.Journe Boutiques Anniversary Editions

In 2005, this first Anniversary Edition of 20 pieces celebrating the 2 nd Anniversary of the Boutique
in Tokyo was an exclusive version of the Chronomètre Souverain, crafted for the first time with a
Titanium case, a dial in Ruthenium and the 18K rose Gold movement.
For the 3rd anniversary of the Tokyo Boutique in 2006, F.P.Journe created a special edition of
the Chronomètre à Résonance in a limited edition of 12 pieces with a Titanium case, Ruthenium
dial, burgundy strap and 18K rose Gold movement.
For the 1st Anniversary of the Boutique in Hong Kong in 2007, F.P.Journe created a special
edition of the Tourbillon Souverain with remontoir d’égalité and deadbeat seconds. This limited
edition of 20 pieces, 5 for each Boutique in Tokyo, Hong Kong, Beijing and Boca Raton,
featured the now classical Anniversary Titanium case, a Ruthenium dial and the 18K rose Gold
movement.
In 2009, to celebrate the F.P.Journe Boutique network around the world with the 5th Anniversary
of the first F.P.Journe Boutique in Tokyo, F.P.Journe created the Octa Perpétuelle, limited to 99
pieces, with a Titanium case, a Ruthenium dial and the 18K rose Gold movement.
It was divided between the seven F.P.Journe Boutiques in New York, Paris, Tokyo, Geneva,
Hong Kong, Beijing and Boca Raton.
