TASAKI (TASAKI & Co., Ltd.; Kobe Headquarter Office: 6-3-2 Minatojima Nakamachi, Chuo-ku, Kobe; Tokyo Headquarter Office: 5-7-5 Ginza, Chuo-ku, Tokyo; Board Director & CEO : Toshikazu TAJIMA) will release 10 new models from the “TASAKI TIMEPIECES” collection of high-end wristwatches this month, August 2016. The models will go on display at the “2016 Tobu World Watch Fair” being held on Thursday, August 18 on the 8 th floor of Tobu Department Store Ikebukuro (1-1-25 Nishi-Ikebukuro, Toshima-ku, Tokyo). They will then be exhibited beginning on Thursday, August 25 on floor B1 of the TASAKI Ginza Flagship Store (5-7-5 Ginza, Chuo-ku, Tokyo), in the “TASAKI TIMEPIECES Executive Salon”.

“TASAKI TIMEPIECES” is a collection of luxury wristwatches by TASAKI, the high-end jeweller that has
consistently put out innovative and sophisticated jewellery founded on the highest quality, creativity and
craftsmanship. Now in its 2 nd season since the launch in last year, the collection has expanded to comprise 3
series with new creations designed in the pursuit of yet greater functionality and beauty.
From the iconic “Odessa” series distinguished by its unique stepped bezel comes the “Odessa Chronograph”
line-up of six elegant, refined TASAKI wristwatches. And also, the series include the “Odessa Skeleton”, a
timepiece expressing the vast scale of the universe and the first model in the collection with a skeleton design
exposing the inner workings in their entirety.

New jewellery-watch additions are also coming to TASAKI's modern, innovative “refined rebellion” series of
sublimely designed luxury wristwatches. The new models are vividly gorgeous works crafted through the use
of sapphire and pink sapphire. Also making its debut is the decadently aesthetic “cluster” design making
extravagant use of SAKURAGOLD™.
These new models shall imbue TASAKI TIMEPIECES with an extra taste of modernity and sophistication.

Odessa Skelton

“Odessa Skeleton” is the first skeleton model from TASAKI TIMEPIECES that take their inspiration from the universe.
The full-skeleton view of the movement gives a sense of the spectacular scale of the universe, while the “perlage” pearl pattern on the bridge swirls like the milky way, portraying the flicker of innumerable stars. And the SAKURAGOLD™ plate provides a beautiful contrast of material and colour, evoking the alluring hue of the cosmos.

The production of a skeleton watch required the development of a unique new design starting from the shape of the bridge, to create the perfect harmony of functionality and aesthetic beauty. From the simple pattern on the index plate, without even any numbers, to the delicate hand-crafted “perlage”. The beauty of a skeleton structure, with its flowing sense of vigour. 100 EDITIONS OF THE TARGA FLORIO

This 2016 year, from 5 - 8 May, another memorable event has been added to Eberhard & Co.’s rich programme of sponsorships in the world of vintage cars: the renowned Targa Florio, which has celebrated its 100th edition and at which the watchmaker has been the Official Timekeeper and presented a chronograph especially created for the competitors in this race.

Set up in 1906 through the enlightened genius and entrepreneurial spirit of Vincenzo Florio - a highly cultured man enamoured of his native land - the “world’s oldest and most famous” automobile race, an icon of Italy and of Sicily in particular, which has left its mark on the history of motor sports, looked proudly towards the future through a four-in-one event: Targa Florio Rally, Targa Florio Historic Rally, Targa Florio Classica and Targa Florio Historic Speed.

It has been set to be the motor racing event of the year, bringing together extremely valuable cars, great champions, crews from the four corners of the world, collectors and enthusiasts. The bond between the Swiss watchmaker, which has been producing high-quality timepieces since 1887 and which has been one of the major players on the old-timers’ scene for over 20 years, and exclusive cars goes back to 1992. It is a love that has endured over time and that is constantly being enriched by innovations such as this latest addition to the fold and the decision to create a special model dedicated to the racing enthusiasts lucky enough to have the honour of taking part in this edition.

Eberhard & Co. has come up with the Champion V Targa Florio watch to celebrate the race’s Centenary. Being a sports chronograph, it is ideal for all those who face the trials of life and their passions with pluck and determination. It has been given to all participants (1 per crew) and all competitors had the chance to purchase a second watch at a special price. Elegant, sophisticated and sporty, Champion V is a mechanical, self-winding chronograph with two counters, one for the minutes and one for the hours, where style and technology merge in a highly versatile equilibrium.

The dial of the special edition Targa Florio is customised with the logo of the 100th edition and its style and colours are evocative of motor races. Waterproof at 50 m, it has a 42.80 mm steel caseback with convex sapphire glass, a caseback fixed with 6 screws and enhanced by polished satin finishes, a steel bezel with a circular aluminium insert that has been treated with anodic oxidation and it comes with a leather strap with a customised “E&Co.” buckle.

Besides the race participants, some Champion V Targa Florio chronographs has also been given to selected celebrities that have accepted the invitation to be present at the anniversary.

“We are pleased to celebrate 100 glorious editions with the Targa Florio”, declared Mario Peserico – General Manager of Eberhard & Co. “The perfect union between the world of vintage cars and our watches is traditionally represented by the Tazio Nuvolari collection, but in this case, due to the exceptional nature of the event, we decided to do something special and to match a different model to this race, a more sporty model with the evocative name Champion V, dedicating it to all past, present and future champions taking part in the race.”

The Targa Florio Classic winners are Giovanni Moceri and Daniele Bonetti on FIAT 508 C (1939), followed by Andrea Vesco and Andrea Guerini on FIAT 508 S BALILLA SPORT (1934). Mario Passanante and Anna Maria Pisciotta ranked third on their FIAT 1100 103 E/ 1955 and on the fourth position we find Francesco and Giuseppe Di Pietra on FIAT 508 C (1938), the two pilots of the Classicteam Eberhard, the scuderia that the Maison supports in all the vintage car races and exhibitions.
